I think his note on the back says this is the famous drugstore where some famous Hollywood types are sometimes seen.

Debra - you might ask him if he recalls if it was Schwab's Drugstore. Tradition has it that Lana Turner (among others) was discovered there.

I also assume he was on shore leave while in the Navy.
